Well we are 21 days into the new year and my knitting project are still high in numbers. However I do have to start a few new projects as my daughter is expecting a new addition to our family. Brandon and Julie are expecting a little girl in May. So my knitting will be focused on my soon to be new grand baby Emery. We are all so excited, Kaden and Wyatt are excited about their new baby sister and that they will be sharing a room.
Now all I have to do is decided what I want to make I have already made a few items one is a pair of booties and another is a cupcake hat.

Friday, September 6
Great week spent two wonderful days watching my two little boys, yesterday was Kaden's first soccer practice, he did great. Tomorrow is also Wyatt's first game as wells as Kaden's first game. They are about an hour and a half apart. One here is Sedona, the other in the VOC. we should just make in to the other game.
Well I finally finished the second Sproutlette dress for Ella.
Also finished the back of my Slimming Sweater. About to start the front.
Due to the fact that I was spending some quality time with my boys I have not been to any of my knit groups including the one at my house. But as my baby boys are getting bigger and bigger I'm spending as much time with then as I possibly can.

Friday is Here
It has been an extremely long week. On Monday a dear friend lost her battle with cancer. Then on Tuesday, I found out that my ex passed away, which was more difficult on my daughter than me as she has been trying to have a relationship with the man her entire life without success. I also found out the he was a bigger a****** than I ever thought. Wednesday my baby went in for surgery to have her tonsils and adenoids removed.
Haven't done much knitting in the past couple of days. Had a much more important job and that was taking are of my baby while she is recouping from her surgery. I feel so bad with her in pain I want to take the pain away and take it upon myself just so that she wouldn't be so miserable. Trying to keep her babies out of her hair and quite so that mom can rest is another thing.
Well tonight I'm still trying to straighten out the pattern. I have it in my head I just have to make in work in reality.

Daughter's Tonsil/Adenoid Removal
My daughter went in for surgery today to have her tonsil and adenoids removed, I'm watching by grandbabies. We went for a short walk with Bonny when we came back the boys fed the fish and turtles. I made them lunch and we made some beaded necklaces. Watched some TV. Mom's surgery went well and mom, dad and pop should be home around 4 or 4:30. I'm spending the night at her house in case she needs anything as her husband has to go to work tomorrow.
As for my knitting I had to frog a few rows and make an adjustment to my pattern to enable for a salvage st. After this adjustment I should be OK, I hope. I'm not sure how much knitting I'll actually get as I will be babysitter/nurse mom.

Slimming Sweater
The other day I was flipping through a Soft Surroundings catalog and came across this cute sweater. It's a very basic lace pattern and simple to knit. I'm sure it would be much easier to just go and buy the sweater but there is the fun in that.
Last night I finished the bottom edge of the back of the sweater, homing to complete a bit more of the main body pattern.

Summer is here
The Friday Knit Club met at my house today and it was an amazing turn out. What a great bunch of friends. We enjoyed the summer heat weather, summer fruit, and of course my treat of the days pina colada cupcakes, I made a batch of both gluten and gluten free.
The one in the front are gluten the ones in the back behind the strawberries are gluten free, and of course since my hubby is going to have some and is a diabetic I also used a sugar substitute. The frosting is a Swiss Buttercream with Pineapple Puree.
I got very little knitting done as usual. But am happy to help anyone who needs help.
The crème de la crème is it's my anniversary today and I totally forgot, but so did my hubby who is usually the one to remember important dates such as birthdays and anniversaries.

Slow Going
Well my Christmas knitting is moving rather slow. The two hats I knitted I donated to be sent to Sandy victims.
On a lighter note I am almost finished with my with fingerless mitten gloves.
I will also have to make a couple of new hats as the ones I made last year for the men are evidently not warm enough. So I will make the hats to match the mitten/gloves.

Wednesday
Well the first month of the year is almost over. I have not yet completed any projects but have started two and trying to figure out yarn for a third (Sugar Plum Fairy) and fourth (Elmsfeuer).
The first project I have started is a Lace Shawl KAL by SusannaIC. I have completed all three clues. After completing Clue 2 and before started Clue 3 I ripped it out because I wanted to add more beads.
The second project I started is a top down sweater from a cap sleeve sweater a local yarn shop owner and I am trying to recreate the sweater except I will make my sweater with long sleeves with the lace pattern down the sleeve as well.
I am still trying to finish the jacket for my niece. I have completed right front and the back. Still have to finish the left front and the sleeves and then I have to place it in the mail. She will be able to use it in the spring when the weather breaks in Chicago.

Polar Express Day
Today we are going to the "Polar Express" with the grand kids. It's basically an hour train ride on the Grand Canyon Railroad. We are having dinner in Williams with the kids before we get on the train at 7.
My knitting is coming along nicely. I have now finished three of the stocking stuffer's. My daughters headband, Jennie's headband, and Caleb's brimmed beanie. I'm working on the beanies for Brandon and Jacob, and still have to make the headband for baby Ella and Cam. Not to mention finish baby Ella's Christmas Stocking, which I'm half done. Hope to get some knitting done on the train ride. Plan on finishing the stocking, and possibly starting Ella's headband to match her Mamma's.

Snowy Day
Spent the entire day doing nothing but knitting. It snowed on and off all day long. I was going to go to Cottonwood do see the Christmas Parade with Julie and the boys, but didn't want to go out in the weather. Finished a headband for my daughter in purple. also finished 2 Triana scarves today and 2 last night. I know have a total of 5 finished scarves for last minute gifts or stocking stuffer at the family Christmas Party.
On Thursday I bought the yarn at Knit 1 Bead 2 for the hats I'm going to make for Brandon and Jacob. If I have extra I will also try and make them some fingerless gloves. I may also do the same for the girls but rather than hats, it will be headbands and gloves.
For my baby boys I'll get some small toys and candy. You cannot have a Christmas stocking without candy in it.
Well I must get back to work. I would also like to make a sweater for myself for the Christmas.

Family Picture Day
Did our annual family pictures today. Had to skip the cook out at the Islas', because I was so tired i just wanted to come home and take a nap. Didn't get much knitting done as I was napping. Will try to do some more knitting now.
Finished one of the two Christmas stockings that I have to finish before Christmas. Also started on a new sweater for myself. Will start on the second stocking tomorrow. I still have to make the other stocking stuffers.
My plan in to make the headband/earwarmers for Julie, Jennie and Cam, Beanie for Caleb, not sure about Brandon and Jacob. Possibly beanies for them as well. Or I Just get them gift cards.
Still trying to deside if I should make the two stockings for Buck (hobby) and me???????

Christmas Knitting
Well it's been a very long time since I last posted. Since that post I have frogged and restarted the Frost Flower Cardigan. I have not worked on it since I restarted it. Will get back to it the first of the year.
Right now I am busy doing Christmas knitting. I have to make two stockings for two new members of the family. I'm still debating if I will make two extra stockings one for me and one for my hobby. Since we are stocking stuffers. However my daughters mother-in-law wants them so that she can hang them at her house.
I'm also making stocking stuffers for my daughter, her hobby and her two boys. Not to mention the in-laws. I just have to figure out what to make for everyone. The girls I figure making headbands/earwarmers. The boys many hats for when they go hunting. As for my little grandsons not even a clue. So backto the grind.

Progress on Frost Flowers Cardigan
I'm progressing quite nicely on my cardigan. I'm about to divide the work for the fronts and back and start sleeve shaping. I can't wait until I can finish and block the body and start on the sleeves. I'm hoping that it will turn out the way I have it pictured in my head.

Frost Flowers
Yeah, finally finished my edging and have just finished the first repeat of the body. It seems for every row forward, I take 2 rows back.
I'm been debating on my choice of front edging still debating if I will use the Checkered Acres with a slight change from 16 repeat rows to 20 repeat rows, or if I will go with something totally different.
Times will tell especially since I only have 1 repeat of the body. I just may change my mind at least 30 times. :)
