Had a nice dinner out with my honey. Back home relaxing and finishing up some paperwork. Have to get ready for tomorrows necklace class, the ladies are coming over at 1 to work on their projects.

It's Already February

Well February is here I can't believe it. What happened to January?

Although January was an extremely busy month. My husband when in for his catheterization on the closed artery in his heart and surgery on the corroded artery in his neck. The one is his heart did not work. But the one in his neck went well. The doctor was able clear the blockage completely. He has been at home recuperating nicely. However, do to the fact that I have been taking care of him and everything else at home I have not had much time to knit.

I did finally get to finish a shawl I started a month ago which I should have been finished with weeks ago. But since I was trying to knit while he was in surgery I made a huge mistake and skipped 6 rows of a chart which i thought I worked and had to take out an entire chart when the pattern wouldn't work out on the last row of the 3rd chart.

New Year

Well it's a new year and there have been many changes in my life. I closed down my knit shop and sold all the inventory to someone who is planning on opening another shop. Not sure what it will be called.

I continue knitting lace shawls, but with the time I will hopefully have now that I no longer have the shop. I plan on starting my own hand dyed yarns and selling them on the net. I also want to start creating and selling my own designs.

Climbing Vines Pullover

I saw a photo of this in a magazine it was a front tie cardigan. I loved the pattern detail so much that I had to incorporated it into this lovely pullover. I knew it was a pattern design that I had seen somewhere, but the stitch could not be found anywhere when I chose to make this pullover. I took the magazine photo and enlarged to until I could see the detail and work from that point. After the pain staking time of completing the pattern stitch I would the written out pattern. Talk about a day late and a dollar short. I am glad that I finally finished it. It has been sitting in the WIP basket for the longest time. I finally decided it was time I finished some WIPs.

Relaxing Sunday

Well i did finish the dress in time for the wedding, but it was not dry to my liking during blocking so I did not wear it to the wedding. Went with another dress, which was probably good since I spent the entire time running or carries either one or the other grandson, knitting does have a tendency stretching when handling babies. Not to mention that the shoes I planed to wear with the dress would also not have worked with the reception setting (outside on the lawn, not made for stilettos.)

I have been working on baby hats for the hospital, have two completed so far. So maybe now that I'm finished with the wedding I can work on getting more of the hats finished.

Dress Progress

My dress is progressing very nicely. I have finished the front/back and am one on the back/front, only 13 more rows and i am totally finished with the dress, well aside from sewing it together. It looks like I will finish this dress tonight.

Went out for a bachelorett dinner for Julie's cousin who is getting married on Saturday, for whose wedding I am making the above mentioned dress.

Relaxing

Yesterday was my KIP and it was great fun. There were about 13 of us. We sat in front of the shop knitting under the canopy which we carried to the front of the shop. There was even a reported coverying the event.

Today, I'm just relaxing working on my dress, for the wedding on Saturday. At it is progressing very nicely I hope to have it finished in the next few days. I would like to finish it today, as that would give me some time to work on the baby hats for the hospital. On Tuesday, my daughter informed me that the hospital is low on baby hats. The ones that they have are either to large or way to small.

As soon as I finish my dress I will post photos of it as well as some of the hats. I won't be following a pattern for the hats I will just make it up as I go along.

Here are a few pictures of our KIP
