Daughter's Tonsil/Adenoid Removal

My daughter went in for surgery today to have her tonsil and adenoids removed, I'm watching by grandbabies. We went for a short walk with Bonny when we came back the boys fed the fish and turtles. I made them lunch and we made some beaded necklaces. Watched some TV. Mom's surgery went well and mom, dad and pop should be home around 4 or 4:30.  I'm spending the night at her house in case she needs anything as her husband has to go to work tomorrow.

As for my knitting I had to frog a few rows and make an adjustment to my pattern to enable for a salvage st.  After this adjustment I should be OK, I hope. I'm not sure how much knitting I'll actually get as I will be babysitter/nurse mom.

Slimming Sweater

The other day I was flipping through a Soft Surroundings catalog and came across this cute sweater. It's a very basic lace pattern and simple to knit.  I'm sure it would be much easier to just go and buy the sweater but there is the fun in that.

Last night I finished the bottom edge of the back of the sweater, homing to complete a bit more of the main body pattern.

Summer is here

The Friday Knit Club met at my house today and it was an amazing turn out.  What a great bunch of friends.  We enjoyed the summer heat weather, summer fruit, and of course my treat of the days pina colada cupcakes, I made a batch of both gluten and gluten free.

The one in the front are gluten the ones in the back behind the strawberries are gluten free, and of course since my hubby is going to have some and is a diabetic I also used a sugar substitute. The frosting is a Swiss Buttercream with Pineapple Puree.

I got very little knitting done as usual. But am happy to help anyone who needs help.

The crème de la crème is it's my anniversary today and I totally forgot, but so did my hubby who is usually the one to remember important dates such as birthdays and anniversaries.

Slow Going

Well my Christmas knitting is moving rather slow. The two hats I knitted I donated to be sent  to Sandy victims.

On a lighter note I am almost finished with my with fingerless mitten gloves.

I will also have to make a couple of new hats as the ones I made last year for the men are evidently not warm enough. So I will make the hats to match the mitten/gloves.

I have started my Christmas knitting have desided that I would give all the female members of the family hats and fingerless gloves for the men.

So far I have one hat finished and one three quarters finished. I have also started on my first pair of the fingerless gloves.

Wednesday

Well the first month of the year is almost over. I have not yet completed any projects but have started two and trying to figure out yarn for a third (Sugar Plum Fairy) and fourth (Elmsfeuer).

The first project I have started is a Lace Shawl KAL by SusannaIC. I have completed all three clues. After completing Clue 2 and before started Clue 3 I ripped it out because I wanted to add more beads.

The second project I started is a top down sweater from a cap sleeve sweater a local yarn shop owner and I am trying to recreate the sweater except I will make my sweater with long sleeves with the lace pattern down the sleeve as well.

I am still trying to finish the jacket for my niece. I have completed right front and the back. Still have to finish the left front and the sleeves and then I have to place it in the mail. She will be able to use it in the spring when the weather breaks in Chicago.

Polar Express Day

Today we are going to the "Polar Express" with the grand kids. It's basically an hour train ride on the Grand Canyon Railroad. We are having dinner in Williams with the kids before we get on the train at 7.

My knitting is coming along nicely. I have now finished three of the stocking stuffer's. My daughters headband, Jennie's headband, and Caleb's brimmed beanie.  I'm working on the beanies for Brandon and Jacob, and still have to make the headband for baby Ella and Cam.  Not to mention finish baby Ella's Christmas Stocking, which I'm half done. Hope to get some knitting done on the train ride. Plan on finishing the stocking, and possibly starting Ella's headband to match her Mamma's.
