Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

WOW, it's been a while since I posted anything.

It has been an extremely long year and short year at the same time. Bob has been in for two surgeries in the past few months. One on his right toe to straighten it which required two screws and the other surgery was for a rotator cuff repair on his left shoulder. We will have to go to Glendale in April for his total reversal shoulder replacement in April of 2011. Hopefully this will be the end of it. We are hoping for a very easy going 2011.

I have been busy knitting when not taking care of Bob and the house. Kaden asked me to make sweaters for him, Wyatt and mom and dad. I did 3 out of 4 in time for Christmas. Dad's is just about off the needles. However, since i origianlly made Wyatt's sweater he has grown and it no loner fits him, so I will have to make him another one. Hopefully I will have sufficient yarn left from dad's and make a matching color for him.

At the moment I am working on a beret, part of Christmas KAL from Moni. It will be a match set, beret, mits, and scarf. I purchased sufficient yarn to make 2 one color is wine color and the other is midnight blue. I plan on making 2 one to give to Julie, and one for her sister-in-law. If I have time, I will make a third and give it to Julie's mother-in-law, or possibly as a white elephent gift next christmas.

Great Day

Met with a few of the ladies from the Wednesday group at the LYS. We had a great time talking and knitting not to forget a few laughs. There was oohs and aaahs over the samples of the new yarns coming in over the next 4 months.

After an afternoon of knitting, went to the Kaden's T-Ball game, he was scheduled to hit a home run. This was the last play of the game which we all sat through on this very unusual cold Friday in mid April what the ? is it with this weather is this suppose to be Arizona not Chicago. The entire family went to dinner afterwards, a great time all around. Lots of laughs.

Monday

Nice day had a few of my Stitch 'N' @itch ladies over working on the pearl necklace. It was great fun, they were hear until about 5:30 needless to say that I did not get much knitting of my own done.

I'm going to try and get some knitting done this evening. Hope to get at least 6 to 10 rows done before I go to bed.

Sunday

Another week has passed. This has been a busy week. Didn't get much knitting done only a few rows on my butterflies stole. Had the boys with me on Tuesday, but haven't seen my little angles since. Got a chance to go to stitch 'n' bitch group this week, but didn't get much knitting done as I was helping other with their issues. It was great fun seeing all the ladies. Some are coming over tomorrow for a special class which we started in December.

Bob has a few friends that will be vising thin week for a few days. It should be fun for him. I will most likely be the tour guide taking them around with Bob, hopefully one of the other guys will be driving and I could get some knitting done as a passenger. Time will tell

Chart Finished

Woke up to snow this morning, but then the sun came out and the snow melted. But there is still snow on the distant mountains. The red rocks look great with the white snow on them.

Well I didn't get any knitting done today. I've been working on a chart for a new shawl. Now that I'm finished with the chart all I have to do is find some time to swatch it and knit it. Not to mention finding yarn that I want to use. I have some cashmere that needs dying which I may use. The question is do I dye it before or after I knit the shawl. Decisions, decisions what to do. The upside of knitting first and dying later I will only dye the amount needed for the shawl. The downside of dying first, since I don't know how much yarn I will need to finish for the shawl.

Well at least the most time consuming part of the job is finished next comes the fun part of actually knitting the shawl and see it come alive as I envision it in my head.

Another Project

My KADD kicked in again this weekend. I started designing a new shawl. This one I'm planning it to be triangular, if the design I have in mind works out. It may or may not have pattern on all rows. As of right now it has pattern on all rows. When I start my swatch I will work the chart as if only the right side rows are charted and see how it looks. I'm hoping that it works, but I have a feeling it will not work out that way, but time will tell.

Now back to my butterflies stole. I now have 4 butterflies completed. I must control my KADD so that I can finish this stole.

To make matters worse, I just signed up for another KAL by Knit and Knag, Mystic Diamonds. Not to mention that I am still working on MS16, the Panama Shawl, Silvester. Not to mention all the other shawls/stoles that I have started and need to finish. Well I should also stop playing on this thing and get back to my knitting.

Valentine's Day

Nice relaxing day, work on the Butterflies stole. I have 3 repeats finished at the moment. Had to make some modifications to the chart as it did not add up correctly took me 2 days to figure out what the problems was. Then had trouble with my computer.

Had a nice dinner out with my honey. Back home relaxing and finishing up some paperwork. Have to get ready for tomorrows necklace class, the ladies are coming over at 1 to work on their projects.

It's Already February

Well February is here I can't believe it. What happened to January?

Although January was an extremely busy month. My husband when in for his catheterization on the closed artery in his heart and surgery on the corroded artery in his neck. The one is his heart did not work. But the one in his neck went well. The doctor was able clear the blockage completely. He has been at home recuperating nicely. However, do to the fact that I have been taking care of him and everything else at home I have not had much time to knit.

I did finally get to finish a shawl I started a month ago which I should have been finished with weeks ago. But since I was trying to knit while he was in surgery I made a huge mistake and skipped 6 rows of a chart which i thought I worked and had to take out an entire chart when the pattern wouldn't work out on the last row of the 3rd chart.

New Year

Well it's a new year and there have been many changes in my life. I closed down my knit shop and sold all the inventory to someone who is planning on opening another shop. Not sure what it will be called.

I continue knitting lace shawls, but with the time I will hopefully have now that I no longer have the shop. I plan on starting my own hand dyed yarns and selling them on the net. I also want to start creating and selling my own designs.
